financial services industry. The company was founded in 2005 by Joe Fitzgerald after leaving the Secura Group, where
he had been the longtime Managing Director of Secura’s Credit Risk Consulting Practice.
Fitzgerald Financial specializes in risk management, regulatory consulting and litigation
support services. Specific services include due diligence examinations, credit reviews, policy & procedure development,
credit process enhancement, credit risk rating system design, ALLL methodology design, pre-examinations, management reviews,
assistance with enforcement actions, and litigation support, including expert witness testimony.
Mr. Fitzgerald is a recognized expert in the field of credit risk management and has
assisted scores of financial institutions in improving their risk management as well as providing litigation support, including
expert witness testimony relating to regulatory and industry practices. Clients have included commercial banks,
thrifts, insurance companies, investment banks, and mortgage companies and, ranged in size from international institutions
to community organizations. Prior to Secura, Joe was a national bank examiner with the Multinational Banking
Division of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
Mr.
Fitzgerald has a BA in economics from the University of Notre Dame. He is a CPA and a member of both the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants and the District of Columbia Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Fitzgerald
is also a director of Chain Bridge Bank, NA, where he serves as the chairman of the Directors Loan Committee and the ALCO
Committee. He is also a member of the Audit Committee.
